Allison Bustria Awarded for Exceptional Support in CHHS Student Affairs

Allison Bustria, Student Affairs Coordinator in the CHHS Office of Student Affairs, has been recognized for her outstanding work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bustria received the Exceptional Support Award in recognition for her work as the Student Affairs Coordinator in the Office of Student Affairs.

Congratulations to Allison Bustria, who has received the Exceptional Support Award in recognition for her work as the Student Affairs Coordinator in the College’s Office of Student Affairs. Every year, George Mason University Human Resources and Payroll recognizes Mason employees for significant achievement in their contributions to Mason. The Exceptional Support Award is given to employees that go above and beyond to ensure their departments run smoothly and efficiently.

 

 

 

“Allison has stepped up to ensure that there are no breaks in service to our students during several major unexpected changes affecting our administrative team,” said Associate Dean for Student Affairs Kimberly Holmes regarding Bustria’s demonstrated excellence and her initiative to take an active role in supporting staff and students alike in effective ways. “She has shown leadership in revamping the College’s processes for managing academic actions, improving the experience for our students.”

 

 

 

Prior to and amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Bustria has remained committed to student success. She launched a weekly digest for graduate and undergraduate students, compiling important announcements, events, internship and job opportunities to share every week. Bustria also served on the College’s committee that coordinated a safe reopening. With the students in mind, she championed an initiative to send special graduation boxes to every member the graduating class of 2020.

 

 

 

“In every situation, she is friendly, creative, and finds ways to get things done,” said Brian Gillette, the College’s Director of Student Success. Bustria has demonstrated a continued commitment to the success of her department, the College, and George Mason University as a whole. Congratulations to Bustria on this well-deserved honor.
