Biography

Farhad Safaie is an adjunct professor in the department's health informatics program. He is a retired Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the Federal Judiciary. Prior to this position, he held leadership and management roles in formulating and delivering the technology program for 8,000 probation and pretrial service officers and staff. Before his government career, he worked in various companies, including 14 years as an engineer, technologist and manager for Chevron Corporation. 

Mr. Safaie has successfully managed and overseen multi-million-dollar projects both domestically and overseas. He has also provided consultation to various strategic projects for Fortune 100 companies. Furthermore, Mr. Safaie has led and facilitated major organizational changes and transformations. He holds the Project Management Institute's (PMI's) Project Management Professional (PMP) credential and the Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) from Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
